The Second Home
Day 43 – 12:20 – Temple 85
You think you’re almost there and then you see the cable car waiting to take people to the top … and then, half way up the hill, there are people beckoning and inviting you to sit down, relax and have a cup of tea.
I had a long interesting chat with this couple who had bought a second home solely for the purpose of providing a rest house for walking henros. I was given cold tea, homemade coffee jelly and an assortment of snacks and sweets. We talked about many things and I asked then why they liked to provide such hospitality to wandering henro. They said that it was a great way to meet all sorts of people and she explained that whilst she gave, she also received in terms of what she learnt from the people they met.
